Bees, wasps, hornets, and other varieties of flying insects can be territorial. They may sting — causing pain, swelling, and soreness. If you are allergic to these stings, a trip to the emergency room could be necessary.

Potential Sting Effects
- Swelling in the face, ear, nose, and/or throat
- Hives or itching in areas not affected by the sting
- Difficulty breathing or wheezing
- Dizziness
- Sudden drop in blood pressure
- Loss of consciousness or awareness
- Stomach upset or vomiting
In the case of a severe allergic reaction, some stings can cause death. If you have a family member who as a known sting allergy, you may wish to have a wasp nest in your yard destroyed or relocated so you do not have to worry about the health of this person. Also make sure the person has an EpiPen available at all times, in case of a problem.
